The idea behind the warm list seems appealing at first - all experienced networkers know it is very difficult to get new signups started so it seems easier to suggest they begin with people that they know. The real reason is somewhat more sinister. We know most newbies will drop out, for one reason or another. The EYK list (everyone you know) is a great way for an ambitious recruiter to build a list of new leads to contact when they do. If your opportunity offers a great product then by all means share it with your nearest and dearest. If they ask you about the business then great, go for it. Other than that the best time to talk about your business is when they remark on the tan from your latest exotic holiday or they ask how you managed to afford that new car.
