NWM => the Harvest

Hello Business Associates:

This is a story about a farmer - who who grew award-winning CORN -- and how it relates to us in NWM...

-----------------------------

Each year this farmer entered his CORN in his local State Fair, where it won the prestigious Blue Ribbon.

Last year, a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something quite interesting about how he grew it.

While the farmer and the reporter were walking along the edge of his property, the farmer happened to mention that his neighbor was growing the 'same kind' of CORN.

The reporter asked - "How do you 'know' he's growing the same kind of CORN?" -- and the farmer said - "Because I 'gave' him the seed."

In fact, the reporter discovered that the farmer shared his own seed CORN with ALL of his neighbors!

"How can you 'afford' to share your very best seed CORN with all of your neighbors -- when they are entering their CORN in competition with yours?" - the reporter asked.

The farmer paused - then explained that wind picks up pollen from the ripening CORN - and swirls it from field to field.

He said - "If my neighbors grow 'inferior' CORN -- the cross-pollination will steadily 'degrade' the quality of my OWN corn."

"If I am to grow 'good' CORN - I must also HELP my neighbors to grow good CORN."

----------------------------------------------

I think there are at least three (3) major 'business lessons' in that little story for us in Network Marketing (NWM)...

(1)-- Being aware of how interconnected we all are is a vital ingredient to being successful. By being aware of what others need, we can reach OUR goals more quickly - by helping others get what THEY want or need (that's basically our own NWM motto, is it not?).

(2)-- The farmer didn't want to interact with anyone who wasn't another person of 'quality'. The Law of Associations is real -- WE will usually 'become' the kind of person that those we spend our time with are. Thus, if we spend our time with people who have little purpose or ambition in life -- WE will probably find ourselves thinking, behaving and getting results like they do.

But, by making sure we spend our time with people who are striving for excellence - the way WE are - we automatically increase our chances of success - because each of us contributes to the other.

(3)-- And lastly, let's not miss the philosophy of those neighbors --as they were WILLING to accept advice /help from someone more successful than they were (the subsequent lesson is that they were likely NOT accepting advice from someone who wasn't growing CORN as well as they were).

Hmmmm...

Let's be very careful who we listen to -- who we associate with in NWM -- in Life.

Let's be very sure that it's someone we respect and trust -- someone who IS accomplishing what WE wish to achieve in NWM -- in Life. Smile

Sincerely, Peter A.
