Question => Do you Own a J-O-B?

Hello Business Associates:

I'd like to put forth a thought for consideration...

As a Business / Financial Advisor, I am considered a SELF EMPLOYED PROFESSIONAL -- I am "in business for myself".

Or AM I?

Robert Kiyosaki ('Rich Dad Poor Dad') says in another of his best-seller books ('The Cash Flow Quadrant') that both Employees (the "E" sector) + the Self Employed (the "S" sector) 'must' move over into the Business Owner (the "B" and the Investment Holdings "I" sectors) -- in order to ever enjoy the "ultimate" in both FINANCIAL and TIME freedom.

And he goes on to show us why owning a NETWORK MARKETING Home Biz is the very "best vehicle" for most people to accomplish this -- in yet another of his best-sellers ('The Business School: For People Who Like Helping People').

One of the most profound distinctions I've learned over the years is the real difference between -- OWNING a "J-O-B" for ourselves --vs-- that of actually -- CREATING a "B-U-S-I-N-E-S-S" for ourselves.

As well -- Michael Gerber clearly points this out in his best-seller book on business ('The E-Myth Revisited').

Millions have left the RAT RACE to "go into business" for themselves. They love the freedom, and the opportunities. Often, they are made up of professionals or tradespeople who value the intimacy of running a small office with a few loyal employees - and who don't want a BOSS. Further, they (we) like "having more control" over the decisions made.

We will come across many, many prospects for our NWM businesses who fit into this category (and who sometimes become a 'little smug' in their own MIS-understanding of the realities).

Unfortunately, most of these "businesses" are NOT really businesses at all.

Yes, they are "businesses" for TAX purposes, but unless the business will run ==> WITHOUT IT's OWNER BEING THERE ==> and can be DUPLICATED as it grows, in reality -- they've (we've) just BOUGHT Ourselves a JOB.

My own "business" (practice) is a good example, because as I mentioned above, I am more accurately described as "self-employed". BUT - if I go on vacation, the business (my practice) closes -- it STOPS. There is NO ONE to take my place - and I can not easily "franchise" or "duplicate" myself. In that sense.

In other words, I get paid ONLY when I go to work - the same as with Attorneys - Dentists - Carpenters (all "self-employed" entrepreneurs -- NOT real "business owners" like Kiyosaki refers to).

In other words, a SELF-EMPLOYED person is pretty much the same as anyone else in a JOB.

I can certainly understand why many salespeople, consultants, accountants, physicians and others choose to operate this way. And frankly, I love it too. But it is not a BUSINESS -- it's more accurately described as a "Self Employed J-O-B" (and it's one that can often end up OWNING "US"!).

Despite the benefits -- here's the "reality" for those of us who are SELF EMPLOYED...

(1) => We are TRADING HOURS for DOLLARS ("linear" income) -- we exchange TIME for MONEY.

(2) => There is NO possibility of generating a PASSIVE (recurring) "residual" INCOME -- to truly, reach Financial + Time Freedom.

(3) => There is NO possibility of utilizing the power of LEVERAGE -- to Expand my practice -- to Duplicate myself.

(4)=> There is NO possibility of building up a solid INCOME PRODUCING ASSET -- to leave to my HEIRS.

PERSONAL 'BUSINESS' OWNERSHIP - through the NETWORK MARKETING business model - is the ONLY way for 'most' of us to ever be able to achieve these rare and treasured benefits. It's not rocket science. We can validate this from the teachings of many 'outside' professional experts.

And IF we select the 'right' COMPANY / PRODUCTS / SUPPORT -- with the 'right' TIMING on major TRENDS -- and build our businesses 'right' -- we will enjoy a highly PREFERRED FUTURE. Period.

But there's a C-A-T-C-H -- because NWM is "not" easy -- it takes Time / Patience / Effort / a positive Attitude / a big Dream / a burning Desire / a strong Belief / a ton of Action / enormous Perseverance - and more.

These traits are 'not common' with most people -- and Network Marketing is 'not ideally suited' for everyone (any more than being a brain surgeon or a wrestler is suitable for everybody).

Nevertheless, for those of us who "will" pay the PRICE -- and for those of us who "are" suited to owning a NWM Home Biz -- the PRIZE (from a successful NWM Home Biz) can be almost unbelievable -- and every way we look at it -- it's a Win-Win-Win.
